UL STR has nearly doubled the capacity and size of its Shenzhen laboratory by relocating to a new 75,000 s/f facility. UL STR Shenzhen has also increased the number of staff from 300 to 400, and added testing capacity and equipment to better serve clients, including manufacturers, importers and retailers. 

The expansion will enable UL STR to meet the growing demand for the company’s full range of quality testing, certification, inspection and responsible sourcing services in the Asia Pacific region.  UL STR will continue to provide the same great quality of service and maintain 5 to 7 day turnaround times, even with the increased demand. 

The new facility houses a “center of excellence for toy safety testing,” which will help clients ensure that their products meet stringent government regulations.  The laboratories also contain technologically advanced equipment for testing consumer hard goods and soft goods, electronics/electrical equipment, garments/textiles, general merchandise, and hazardous substances.  

In addition to Shenzhen, UL STR’s Shanghai and Hong Kong laboratories have also expanded and added nearly 10,000 s/f in combined space. UL STR also has a laboratory in Taiwan.
