The Canadian Ministers of Health and the Environment recently released draft screening assessment reports for 13 potentially harmful chemicals as part of an ongoing program to assess and regulate approximately 200 "high priority" substances.
Referred to as "Batch 10" of the Chemicals Management Plan, the government agencies also proposed risk management options for those substances – such as the industrial chemical hydrazine – considered likely to require actions to reduce risks to human health and the environment.
Comments on the draft screening assessments and proposed risk management plan must be submitted by August 25, 2010.
