At UL-STR, we’re committed to our clients operating in an environmentally friendly manner and consider environmental health and sustainability a key factor in responsible sourcing. To that extent, UL-STR’s Responsible Sourcing business has developed two environmental audits that contribute to a holistic view of the supply chain. The Environmental Health and Safety Audit and Wastewater Management Systems audit assist clients in promoting environmental responsibility in their supply chains. 

Environmental Health and Safety Audit

Workers that are dizzy from industrial fumes can’t and won’t focus on doing a quality job.  That’s why UL-STR’s Occupational Health and Safety audits are an important part of comprehensive quality and responsible sourcing programs.  For over a decade, we have helped companies identify and improve working conditions at supplier sites so workers can devote themselves to the ultimate goal: creating quality products. 

UL-STR’s Responsible Sourcing business has developed one of the most comprehensive occupational health and safety services that include thorough inspections of facility floor plans, production areas, fire safety precautions, first aid preparation and numerous other factors to determine compliance to local and international standards.  Our specialists are very knowledgeable about best practices and can advise suppliers on appropriate corrective actions.

Wastewater Management Systems

Our clients have become increasingly concerned about effluent from the production process entering local streams and waterways unchecked. To address these concerns, UL-STR has developed a focused protocol covering environmental management practices for water and wastewater. The Wastewater Management Audit examines water use within the facility as well as the monitoring and treatment systems in place to minimize potential damage to surrounding ecosystems and communities.
